Postdoctoral Researcher in Health Economics & Data Science

About the role

The position is part of the EU-MIC initiative, a European coalition aiming to quantify the societal costs of mental disorders across Europe. You will join the Department of Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at Universitätsmedizin Frankfurt to lead health-economic analyses for this flagship project.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a health-economic data analysis plan for the EU-MIC project.
• Identify, collate, harmonise and analyse national and international healthcare datasets.
• Model direct and indirect costs of mental disorders and quantify productivity losses, presenteeism and absenteeism.
• Conduct systematic evidence reviews, evidence synthesis and health-economic modelling.
• Establish transparent data structures, metadata standards and reproducible analytical workflows.
• Prepare peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, policy briefs and stakeholder presentations.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) in Health Economics, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, Medicine, Psychology or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated expertise in analysing large healthcare, claims, registry or real-world datasets.
• Strong statistical and programming skills (R, Python, Stata or SAS).
• Interest in mental health, health services research and European health policy.
• Excellent written and spoken English; German is advantageous but not required.
