About the role

St James the Apostle Primary School is seeking a dedicated Prep Home Group Teacher for the second semester. The role involves delivering a safe, inclusive, and Catholic‑based learning environment for young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated learning experiences aligned with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0.
• Use student data to inform teaching strategies and improve outcomes.
• Assess, report, and maintain accurate records for all learners using school systems.
• Prepare year and term overviews for each home group.
• Maintain ongoing professional documentation on Google Drive.
• Contribute to future planning, policy development, and school initiatives.

Required profile

• Commitment to the ethos of Catholic education and student wellbeing.
• Passion for teaching and understanding of contemporary learning environments.
• Knowledge of the Science of Learning and the Victorian Curriculum 2.0.
• Innovative, highly motivated, and able to work collaboratively.
• Hold or be willing to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Drive for documentation and collaboration.
