Production Engineer (Mid-Level)

About the role

As a Production Engineer you will design, build and optimise mechatronic systems that combine mechanical assemblies, electrical controls and sensor technology for our Berlin production facilities. You will work closely with both mechanical and automation engineering teams to turn concepts into reliable, high‑performing equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prototype mechanical components and custom fixtures using CAD to support new equipment and process upgrades.
• Build, test and iterate prototypes on the shop floor, then finalise designs.
• Support commissioning of new machinery and production lines, including installation, functional testing and troubleshooting during ramp‑up.
• Plan and execute engineering projects, coordinating with production, quality and R&D, tracking progress and managing risks.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, mechatronic and automation issues to minimise downtime and feed learnings into preventive maintenance.
• Manage relationships with equipment and component suppliers, handling quotes, technical queries, repairs and warranty issues.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives using performance data to optimise equipment throughput and reliability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as SOPs, maintenance plans, drawings and equipment records.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in mechanical or interdisciplinary engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with production, quality and R&D teams.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and a passion for building integrated production systems.
