Professor of Innovation Management (Part‑time)

About the role

IU International University seeks a part‑time Professor of Innovation Management to join its Cologne campus for the winter term 2026/27. The role combines teaching, research, and curriculum development, offering the chance to shape future leaders in entrepreneurship, innovation, and agile methods.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Innovation Management in on‑site teaching and research activities.
• Design and deliver face‑to‑face lectures and supervise students during exams and thesis work.
• Provide practice‑oriented instruction in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Agile Methods.
• Contribute to the development of innovative teaching formats within IU’s didactic concept.
• Collaborate with academic colleagues to continuously improve course offerings.

Required profile

• University degree in Innovation Management or a related field with outstanding academic performance.
• Relevant doctoral degree (Ph.D.).
• Minimum five years of professional experience, including at least three years outside academia.
• Demonstrated expertise through publications or projects.
• Initial experience in academic teaching is desirable.
• Team‑oriented, reliable, and committed to in‑person teaching while proficient in virtual lectures.
• Permanent residence in Germany.
• English language proficiency at C1 level (CEFR).
