Professorship in Operations Research – Campus Cologne

About the role

IU International University seeks a part‑time professor to lead the Operations Research degree program on its Cologne campus for the winter term 2026/27. The position is limited to two years and combines face‑to‑face teaching with research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver on‑site lectures and seminars in Operations Research, Operations Management and Business Mathematics.
• Supervise students during examinations and thesis work.
• Contribute to the development of innovative teaching formats within IU’s didactic concept.
• Engage with the broader academic network and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum improvement.

Required profile

• Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Operations Research or a closely related discipline with outstanding academic performance.
• Minimum five years of professional experience, including at least three years outside academia.
• Demonstrated research output through publications or projects.
• Experience in university teaching is desirable.
• Permanent residence in Germany and English proficiency at CEFR C1 level.
