Project Engineer – Utility‑Scale Energy Storage

About the role

Stem is looking for a Project Engineer to support the delivery of utility‑scale Energy Management Systems (EMS), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and hybrid PV+BESS projects across Europe. You will work under senior engineers, gaining hands‑on experience in the design, configuration and documentation of complex energy storage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support and execute project delivery for utility‑scale EMS, BESS and hybrid PV+BESS projects.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation such as circuit diagrams, network topologies, interface specifications and configuration sheets.
• Assist in designing communication network architectures, including VLAN configuration, managed switch parameterisation and fiber‑optic connectivity plans.
• Participate in cybersecurity and firewall configuration tasks for plant OT networks, including basic firewall rule review and VPN/remote‑access setup.
• Configure monitoring, SCADA and EMS platforms (PowerTrack, Edge EMS, Edge UI/HMI) to meet project‑specific requirements.
• Support EMS configuration and PPC parameter setup, covering signal mapping, set‑point configuration, reactive‑power curves and energy‑management profiles.

Required profile

• Technical background in electrical, energy or control engineering.
• Ability to work under guidance of senior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
