Project Management Office Lead (PMO Lead)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Project Management Office Lead (PMO Lead) to support a high‑value programme for a German customer in the Connected Intelligence / Space Digital / Secure Connectivity DACH area. Based near Munich, you will join the PMO and Delivery Support team, reporting to the Head of PMO and the Project Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the Project Management Plan and all related documentation.
• Develop, enforce, and continuously improve standardized project methodologies, templates, and frameworks.
• Lead, organise, and coordinate the PMO team, fostering accountability and high performance.
• Act as the primary liaison between the project team, cross‑functional stakeholders, and external partners.
• Oversee project governance, integrated planning, risk and opportunity management, and programme monitoring.
• Prepare and deliver internal and external reports, reviews, and status updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading PMO functions within complex, multi‑disciplinary programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to provide data‑driven oversight.
• Excellent communication skills to manage stakeholder expectations.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with project managers and delivery teams.
