Project Manager – Fusion Energy Projects

About the role

The Project Manager will lead strategic and technical projects within Europe’s fusion energy sector, based in Karlsruhe. You will coordinate multiple initiatives, ensuring they meet timeline, budget, and quality expectations while delivering value to customers and the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects, guaranteeing on‑time, on‑budget delivery while upholding safety and quality standards.
• Define project goals, design requirements, and maintain comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, resources, risks and budgets.
• Prepare reports and presentations; act as the primary liaison between clients, partners and the supply chain.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing and quality‑assurance teams to meet regulatory and safety requirements.
• Manage partner and supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Maintain essential project documentation such as RAID logs, deliverable registers and change‑control records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a science or engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably with equipment/facility development or plant construction projects.
• Proven ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Native German speaker with fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience reviewing mechanical design drawings and CAD models.
• Familiarity with global project‑management standards such as PMBOK.
