Project Manager – High-Voltage Overhead Line Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead high‑voltage overhead line construction projects (up to 400 kV) across multiple locations in Germany. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from planning and tendering to delivery and handover, ensuring technical excellence, safety compliance and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage high‑voltage overhead line projects up to 400 kV, overseeing budget, programme and commercial outcomes.
• Monitor and enforce health & safety standards throughout the project.
• Support project calculations, tender preparation and quotation processes.
• Control measurements, valuations and billing activities.
• Collaborate with construction management to optimise assembly and construction methods.
• Select, negotiate and manage subcontractors.
• Coordinate materials, machinery, tools, equipment and site resources.
• Maintain customer relationships and engage key stakeholders.
• Track project quality, schedule performance and ensure timely handover.
• Identify risks and proactively resolve technical, commercial and operational issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable technical qualification.
• Proven experience managing construction projects, preferably in overhead line, transmission or power infrastructure.
• Practical knowledge of VOB and BGB contract law.
• Strong commercial awareness and experience handling project budgets.
• Experience working with subcontractors and on‑site construction teams.
• Structured, independent approach with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to travel across Germany and a valid Class B driving licence.
