Project Manager – MedTech Physical Migration (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Project / Program Manager to lead the Physical Migration workstream of a global MDD‑to‑MDR transition for a MedTech company. The role is freelance (6‑month interim) and can be performed on a hybrid basis from anywhere in Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end Physical Migration workstream, coordinating manufacturing, suppliers, logistics and demand planning.
• Drive the transition from MDD to MDR production across all sites while ensuring uninterrupted product supply to Asia, MEA and LATAM.
• Implement and manage bridging stock strategies, monitor inventory build‑up and reduction, and minimise obsolete MDD stock.
• Align cross‑functional teams (Regulatory, Technical Documentation, Supply Chain, IT, Production) on priorities, milestones, risks and dependencies.
• Provide transparent reporting to senior leadership, including SLT updates, risk escalation and decision support.
• Maintain a stable, scalable global supply‑chain setup throughout the migration.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex, cross‑functional projects or programmes, preferably in medical‑device manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of global manufacturing, supply‑chain and logistics operations.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate international stakeholders and drive execution under tight timelines.
• Fluent in English and German; registered as a freelancer/self‑employed.
