Project Manager – Secondary Engineering (HV Substations)

About the role

The company is a leading engineering consultancy focused on high‑voltage infrastructure, grid expansion and renewable‑energy projects. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead secondary engineering packages for 110–380 kV substations and switchyards across Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Lead secondary engineering projects from concept to final hand‑over.
• Coordinate protection, control and SCADA engineering activities.
• Develop technical concepts for new builds, refurbishments and extensions.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and engineering deliverables.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, documentation and project packages.
• Interface with TSOs, utilities, suppliers and EPC contractors.
• Support installation, commissioning and final hand‑over.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster team development.

Required profile

• Strong background in secondary engineering for HV/EHV substations.
• Proven experience delivering complex engineering projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with German TSO and grid‑operator standards.
• Fluent German (minimum B2 level).
