PSS Assistant – Psychosocial Support

About the role

The PSS Assistant will deliver psychosocial support (PSS) activities to vulnerable groups in Hassaka/Shadadi, Syria. Working under the direct supervision of the Protection and MHPSS Officers, the role involves conducting individual and group sessions, performing assessments, and supporting outreach initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual PSS sessions and facilitate group counseling under supervision.
• Perform intake and post‑session assessments to monitor beneficiary progress.
• Coordinate with Social Assistants and Protection Assistants to ensure case continuity.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for PSS activities, including preparing facilities and equipment.
• Collect, organize, and report data on daily PSS activities and monthly beneficiary numbers.
• Participate in team meetings, bi‑weekly supervision sessions, and capacity‑building workshops.

Required profile

• Ability to work under close supervision while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills for engaging beneficiaries and collaborating with team members.
• Attention to detail in data collection, reporting, and case documentation.
• Willingness to travel to outreach locations and adapt to field conditions.
