Python Engineer – Network Planning

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Python Engineer to join Flix’s Supply Division and own the backend systems that power our network‑planning optimisation product. You will work on APIs, event‑driven pipelines and cloud infrastructure that enable vehicle, driver and timetable scheduling for millions of passengers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend APIs, use‑case layer, domain models and serialization logic.
• Build and operate event‑driven pipelines using Confluent Kafka.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of new product modules, defining architecture and ensuring clean boundaries.
• Manage Kubernetes deployments, CI/CD pipelines and AWS resources (Terraform, Docker).
• Collaborate with Operations Research Engineers to integrate optimisation algorithms.
• Participate in AI‑augmented development workflows and code reviews.
• Mentor teammates and promote knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of professional backend development experience with Python.
• Proven ability to drive alignment across teams and define integration contracts.
• Familiarity with clean‑architecture principles such as hexagonal architecture.
• Basic front‑end experience is a plus.
