Regional HSE Manager – Northern Europe

About the role

Maersk is looking for a seasoned, self‑driven leader to head Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) across its landside operations in the Northern Europe Continent. Based in Hamburg, the role oversees warehouses, depots and transportation activities, combining operational oversight with strategic risk management to protect people, assets and the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing team of HSE experts across the area, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and enhance the area’s HSE structure and framework to proactively identify, assess and mitigate risks.
• Align business and functional priorities, creating cohesive strategies that support operational excellence and HSE objectives.
• Drive implementation and compliance with APMM’s Global HSE Standards while respecting country‑specific regulations.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Safety & Resilience and APMM teams to deliver tools, guidance and assurance programs.
• Build capability within the HSE function through training, upskilling and partnership with Centres of Excellence and the People Function.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in HSE within logistics, transport or related industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of European HSE regulations and international best practices.
• Ability to operate in a matrixed, multi‑country environment and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on strategic implementation.
