Research Officer – World Migration Report

About the role

The Research Officer will support the development, design, preparation and coordination of the World Migration Report series, working closely with the editorial team and internal and external contributors.

Key responsibilities

• Support and assist the Research Unit Lead in development, design, preparation and coordination of the World Migration Report series.
• Draft key parts of reports, co‑author thematic chapters and conduct data checking.
• Contribute to interactive tools, toolkits and dissemination activities such as webpages, social media, podcasts and events.
• Support knowledge‑management tools, webinars and provide technical guidance to regional and country offices.
• Assist in writing, proofreading, editing and formatting various research products.
• Undertake duty travel as required for promotion and dissemination.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Migration Studies or related social sciences with at least two years relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with four years experience.
• Demonstrated experience in writing papers, briefings and articles on migration and conducting migration research.
• Proven ability to present research findings to diverse audiences and collaborate with internal and external partners.
• Fluency in English (oral and written); working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an advantage.
