About the role

Rhoda AI is building the next generation of generalist intelligent robots. As a Tier 2 Robot Pilot you will tele‑operate robots in VR to collect high‑quality manipulation data, work with minimal supervision, meet data‑throughput targets and support researchers with evaluation protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Collect high‑quality robot training data by tele‑operating robotic systems using VR equipment and hand controllers, demonstrating manipulation tasks repeatedly.
• Meet daily performance expectations for data‑collection throughput, quality, and consistency, including correct task setup and complete metadata.
• Follow task specifications and standard operating procedures precisely, documenting any changes between sessions.
• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to lab safety procedures at all times.
• Support evaluations by running structured protocols alongside researchers and accurately reporting results and issues.
• Troubleshoot and report hardware/software and tele‑op tooling issues, capture logs and provide clear reproduction steps.
• Perform basic operational maintenance such as workspace resets, calibration checks, and battery or component swaps.
• Review and annotate recordings for quality checks or labeling support.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives to increase data‑collection efficiency and quality.
• Occasionally travel to customer or partner sites and work weekend overtime as needed.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency with VR controllers or similar real‑time control experience.
• Ability to maintain focus while operating in VR for extended periods and follow detailed written or video instructions.
• Comfort working hands‑on with robotics equipment in a lab environment; safety‑minded and detail‑oriented.
• Comfortable using Linux and the command line to run programs and check logs.
• Capability to debug routine issues and distinguish between environment/setup, software, or hardware problems.
• Ability to write detailed bug reports, document failure modes and assist in investigations.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, able to work a fixed full‑time shift (AM or PM).
• Physical ability to stand or sit for extended periods, perform repetitive motions and lift items up to ~30 lb.
