S/4HANA Architect – Sovereign Cloud Delivery (Germany)

About the role

We are looking for an S/4HANA Architect to join SAP’s Sovereign Cloud Delivery team in Germany. The architect will act as the primary technical owner and strategic advisor for private‑cloud landscapes, ensuring stability, optimisation and alignment with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define cloud architecture road‑maps, standards and best practices for SAP Sovereign Cloud customers.
• Lead lifecycle activities such as upgrades, migrations, disaster‑recovery testing and adoption of S/4HANA, Clean Core and cloud capabilities.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, critical issues and escalations, coordinating timely resolution with customers and internal teams.
• Drive automation, operational efficiency and continuous improvement to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Required profile

• 7+ years of SAP technical administration and operations experience, including SAP Basis and steady‑state scenarios.
• Customer‑facing technical leadership experience with the ability to manage escalations and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical mindset and proven ability to lead global, virtual project teams.

Required skills

• SAP Basis
• SAP RISE methodology and SAP migrations
• SAP HANA and Linux environments
• SAP Cloud Infrastructure, OpenStack, Terraform, Ansible
• Knowledge of hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) – a plus
