SAP AI Engineer – SAP BTP (Hybrid, Hamburg)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior SAP AI Engineer to join our AI‑native product team on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The position is based in Hamburg with a hybrid work model and runs for an initial 7‑month period.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate large language model (LLM) and AI services such as SAP AI Core and Azure OpenAI into live cloud products.
• Develop AI‑enabled micro‑services and event‑driven architectures on SAP BTP.
• Own the quality, cost control and observability of AI features in production environments.

Required profile

• Strong background in Node.js and cloud‑native development.
• Proven experience delivering LLM/AI integrations in production systems.
• Familiarity with Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns, prompt engineering and an API‑first mindset.
• Experience with SAP BTP or comparable cloud platforms; logistics, distribution or supply‑chain knowledge is a strong plus.
• Fluent English; German is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Hamburg four days per week.
