Satellite Chief Engineer – Large Telecom Space Architectures

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Chief Engineer to lead the design, development and verification of satellite systems for a large‑scale telecom space program in Germany. Based at the Immenstaad site, you will shape the end‑to‑end satellite architecture and ensure it meets customer and user requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the complete satellite architecture and design specifications.
• Lead the satellite systems engineering team across multiple locations.
• Coordinate with the transnational satellite team in Toulouse to align technical solutions.
• Drive validation and verification activities for the whole space segment.
• Represent the national focal point for satellite engineering within the program.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior satellite engineering roles, preferably in telecom or LEO constellations.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to translate user requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent leadership and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
