Senior Accountant – Global Finance & Automation

About the role

Appinio is looking for a tech‑savvy Senior Accountant (m/f/d) to become the technical architect of its accounting function. You will ensure the highest quality of financial data while building a scalable, automated ecosystem for a fast‑growing, remote‑first company.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the financial ledgers of the Appinio Group, guaranteeing 100% accuracy, compliance and thorough documentation.
• Partner with the Team Lead Accounting to deliver fast, clean month‑end and year‑end closes (HGB) for the German entity and support subsidiaries.
• Prepare all audit documentation and schedules, acting as the internal expert for external auditors.
• Drive the implementation and optimisation of the accounting tool‑stack (Light, DATEV, Lucanet) to create a fully digital, scalable function.
• Serve as a technical gatekeeper, reviewing accounting topics, ensuring data robustness and reducing manual effort.
• Provide technical sparring on accounting, tax and compliance issues and support the consolidation of international subsidiaries (Spain, UK, US, Colombia).

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably with German GAAP (HGB).
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment.
• Proven track record of improving accounting processes through automation.
