Senior Accountant / Jr Controller

About the role

CFO Worx, an AI‑native fractional finance firm, is looking for a hands‑on finance professional to build a monthly close process for a newly acquired analytical‑instrument manufacturer in Leipzig. You will create accurate reporting, inventory valuation, and cost‑center structures while working closely with the internal bookkeeper and the parent company’s finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run a monthly close from scratch, including depreciation entries and inventory adjustments.
• Establish accurate COGS by separating materials and labor, moving away from direct P&L booking.
• Develop reliable inventory and work‑in‑progress numbers using existing component lists and unit‑cost data.
• Implement cost‑center logic and proper cost splits.
• Produce weekly and monthly financial reporting packages for the parent company.
• Conduct unit‑cost analysis on analyzers to support strategic decisions.
• Perform vendor and customer/distributor analysis, including revenue by customer.
• Support budgeting and planning activities and present results to finance leadership.

Required profile

• Fluent German and strong English – German for on‑site work, English for reporting.
• Solid accounting background, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with numbers and analysis.
• Self‑starter able to build processes where none exist.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Tech‑savvy and comfortable in a collaborative, tools‑driven environment.
• On‑site in Leipzig and authorized to work in Germany.
