Senior Air Operations Specialist – 2nd Shift

About the role

Crane Worldwide Logistics is seeking a Senior Air Operations Specialist to join its German team on a second‑shift schedule (16:00‑00:00). The role focuses on preparing documentation, routing shipments, negotiating rates and providing high‑level support to both internal sales teams and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and review airline bills, motor carrier bills of lading, export/import declarations and NAFTA/USMCA forms.
• Select optimal transport modes for U.S. and cross‑border Canadian shipments, balancing cost and service level.
• Negotiate rates and service agreements with carriers, freight forwarders and couriers such as UPS, DHL and FedEx.
• Coordinate daily with customs brokers to provide import documentation, track entries and expedite clearances.
• Partner with domestic sales to collect weight/dimension data, prepare freight quotes and recommend cost‑effective carriers.
• Audit domestic freight invoices, identify discrepancies and dispute charges with carriers.
• Serve as primary contact for client inquiries, investigate service failures and ensure resolution to client satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records to meet corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Eligible to reside and work in Germany with valid residence and work permit.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a client‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
