Senior Backend Developer – PHP/Symfony (f/m/d)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our Business Services division. You will work on a mature PHP/Symfony codebase that supports critical commercial and compliance workflows across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Ship new features, resolve issues and maintain system stability.
• Develop and evolve complex business logic within a high‑volume PHP/Symfony environment.
• Contribute to an API‑first, framework‑agnostic architecture for consumption by other systems.
• Design robust data models, manage migrations and implement audit trails to ensure correctness and traceability.
• Collaborate closely with Product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and own decisions end‑to‑end.

Required profile

• Completed IT training or a degree in Computer Science (or comparable).
• Minimum five years of professional experience with PHP and Symfony in large, customized codebases.
• Experience with API‑based systems (REST; GraphQL is a plus) and data modeling.
• Exposure to Node.js or Python for integration scenarios.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage.
• Structured, reliable work style with clear risk communication and documentation.
