Senior Backend Engineer C++ (All genders)

About the role

Stark is looking for a senior C++ backend engineer to join the Minerva team in Berlin. You will work on the high‑performance, low‑latency engine that powers command‑and‑control software for autonomous aerial and maritime swarms operating in real‑world, contested environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core C++ services that maintain a synchronized battlefield state across distributed systems.
• Develop high‑performance gRPC and REST APIs linking the frontend C2 interface with autonomous vehicles.
• Build and optimise real‑time telemetry pipelines handling high‑frequency sensor data.
• Scale the architecture to control multiple vehicles simultaneously, expanding from a few to dozens of assets.
• Collaborate closely with robotics, safety, and mission‑planning experts in a fast‑paced, high‑density engineering environment.

Required profile

• Strong experience in modern C++ development, with a focus on performance, RAII and memory safety.
• Proven ability to work on low‑latency, high‑throughput systems under constrained conditions.
• Comfortable collaborating with cross‑disciplinary teams and delivering production‑ready code.
