Senior Backend Engineer – Grafana Search & Storage

About the role

Grafana Labs is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Search & Storage squad. You will help build the next‑generation storage layer that powers Grafana Cloud, working on unified search, folder management, and the Operator‑style storage API.

Key responsibilities

• Influence product roadmap and define your own career objectives.
• Design, develop, and ship new features, then iterate based on customer feedback.
• Own projects from concept through production deployment and operational hand‑off.
• Contribute to open‑source components beyond the immediate team.
• Build, operate, and maintain highly reliable, performant, and available backend services.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and take ownership of service reliability.
• Mentor teammates, engage in design discussions, and collaborate across the organization.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale backend systems in a cloud environment.
• Comfortable working in a remote‑first, open‑source driven culture.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to drive projects end‑to‑end.
• Willingness to share knowledge and support team members.
