Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Staffbase is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and enhance its AI‑native employee experience platform. You will work on web‑based clients, native mobile apps and RESTful services that power internal communications for thousands of organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using Go and, where appropriate, Java or Kotlin.
• Collaborate in a cross‑functional Scrum team to deliver high‑quality, well‑tested code.
• Participate in code reviews, give and receive feedback, and continuously share knowledge.
• Own the full lifecycle of features, from implementation to production monitoring.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments with Docker, Terraform and related tooling.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Self‑starter who values diversity and inclusion.

Required skills

• Go (primary language).
• Java and/or Kotlin.
• Building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipeline management.
• MongoDB for data storage.
• Playwright for automated testing.
