Senior Backend Software Engineer – Growth (EU/UK Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a (Senior) Backend Software Engineer to join the Growth team at Pliant. You will help build and maintain the core banking platform that powers onboarding, anti‑financial‑crime compliance and credit‑risk management for thousands of organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, define and evolve the banking platform’s micro‑service architecture.
• Ensure the system remains scalable, maintainable and secure.
• Develop integration and end‑to‑end automated tests.

Required profile

• Strong experience building testable, maintainable and extensible architectures.
• Passion for best engineering practices and knowledge of distributed‑system patterns.
• At least 5 years of professional experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Solid background with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Excellent automation‑testing capabilities.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS and Docker.
