Senior Business Development Defence (m/f)

About the role

Airbus Defence & Space is seeking a Senior Business Development professional to bridge its Public Safety & Security (PSS) portfolio with the specific needs of the global defence market. Based in Ulm, Germany, you will help shape the strategy, identify high‑value extensions, and support regional teams navigating complex military ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse gaps between current PSS offerings and defence requirements such as ruggedisation, tactical features and security standards.
• Collaborate with regional leads (WENA, NCEE, MEA, etc.) to build local value maps and influence maps.
• Validate competitor landscapes and highlight strategic advantages like local sovereignty or technical edges.
• Lead customer workshops to test concepts, capture feedback and refine solutions.
• Coordinate with external experts to ensure alignment with defence procurement processes.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in business development within the defence or public‑safety sector.
• Deep understanding of military procurement cycles and stakeholder ecosystems.
• Strong analytical skills to translate market needs into actionable product extensions.
• Excellent communication and influence abilities across multinational teams.
