Senior Category Manager – French Market (Fixed-Term, 1.5 years)

About the role

As a Senior Category Manager for the French and Belgian markets at zooplus, you will be responsible for executing the category strategy and ensuring flawless operational delivery. The position is fixed‑term for 1.5 years and focuses on promotion management, pricing, content, and shop presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the annual category and promotional plan in collaboration with sales and cluster leadership.
• Own the operational rollout of promotions in CPM and related systems, coordinating with CRM, graphics, and shop operations.
• Maintain high‑quality category pages, banners, landing pages and product selections, ensuring correct implementation and timely updates.
• Execute local price change requests, monitor competitor pricing, and produce price analyses and impact reports.
• Track promotional performance (sales, margin, ROI), prepare post‑promo analyses and support short‑term tactical actions.
• Manage shop‑front presentation, including PLPs, search, recommendations, sorting rules and visibility of own brands.
• Provide regular performance reporting on net sales, margin, promo spend, stock availability and key brand metrics.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a structured, hands‑on approach.
• Excellent execution skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with central teams.
• Experience in category management, retail e‑commerce or related commercial functions.
• Fluent in French and English; knowledge of the Belgian market is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with category management tools and CPM systems.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms, pricing analysis and promotional performance tracking.
• Strong Excel or data‑analysis capabilities for reporting and impact assessment.
