Senior Controller (Finance & Controlling)

About the role

Our client, a leading international manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Controller to join its Controlling team. The role supports operational excellence through financial transparency, robust planning processes and data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting across multiple business units.
• Deliver detailed variance analysis and performance reports to senior management.
• Prepare financial models for investment decisions, operational improvements and strategic initiatives.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Operations teams to analyse production performance, costs and profitability.
• Monitor manufacturing KPIs, operational efficiencies, inventory performance and cost drivers.
• Support long‑term planning, scenario modelling and business forecasting.
• Collaborate with Finance Systems and IT to enhance controlling processes and reporting capabilities.
• Contribute to the development and optimisation of the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting automation, planning accuracy and business insight.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in Controlling, Commercial Finance or Financial Planning within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost controlling and management reporting.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field; professional qualifications are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across Finance, Operations and Manufacturing.

Required skills

• Enterprise Performance Management platforms – e.g., SAP Analytics Cloud (Planning).
• Strong SAP experience (SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC preferred).
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Power BI or similar Business Intelligence tools.
