Senior Cost Manager

About the role

Datacenter People is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to lead the financial and commercial strategy for complex datacenter construction projects. You will own cost planning from concept through construction, mitigate financial risk, and drive project profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed cost models for conceptual, schematic, and detailed design phases covering civil, structural, architectural, and MEP components.
• Design procurement strategies, manage pre‑qualification, evaluate bids, and prepare contractual documents.
• Implement and oversee major contract forms such as FIDIC, NEC, and JCT, lead negotiations, finalize accounts, and manage variations and claims.
• Produce monthly cost reports, cash‑flow forecasts, and monitor variances against approved budgets.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities to reduce costs without compromising standards or delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Engineering.
• Progressive post‑contract cost management and quantity surveying experience.
• Extensive hands‑on experience in datacenter or critical‑infrastructure construction.
• Deep understanding of heavy MEP cost drivers such as cooling, power, generators, and UPS systems.
• Proven ability to present financial models and commercial strategies to senior executives and technical teams.
