Senior Director, Public Affairs – Germany

About the role

The Senior Director, Public Affairs for Germany will shape the external environment to enable sustainable, responsible growth for The Coca‑Cola Company. Operating at the intersection of public policy, reputation and sustainability, you will define and execute a forward‑looking public affairs strategy that protects the company’s license to win and advances consumer‑centric outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver Germany’s public affairs strategy aligned with Europe OU priorities and commercial plans.
• Shape clear positions on priority issues such as packaging circularity, nutrition, responsible marketing, fiscal measures and climate.
• Anticipate regulatory developments, convert signals into risk/opportunity assessments and advise senior leadership.
• Lead high‑impact engagement with government, regulators, trade associations, NGOs, academia and community leaders.
• Establish disciplined stakeholder mapping, prioritisation and engagement cadence across the system.
• Build coalitions and partnerships that influence policy outcomes and create shared value.
• Partner with Communications to deliver integrated external narratives and manage issues or crises.
• Localise Europe OU sustainability strategy for Germany and direct philanthropic investments.
• Embed sustainability considerations into policy advocacy and commercial planning with bottling partners.
• Connect external affairs to portfolio, packaging and route‑to‑market choices.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in public affairs, government relations or public policy, preferably within a regulated market.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships.
• Strong understanding of German regulatory environment on packaging, nutrition, advertising and climate.
• Experience integrating sustainability and social impact objectives into policy and business decisions.
• Collaborative mindset to work across commercial, sustainability and bottling functions.
