Senior Field Service Engineer – MRI Systems

About the role

We are looking for a senior technical authority to keep Orbem’s MRI systems running reliably at customer sites and in our labs. You will lead the end‑to‑end resolution of complex, unplanned service incidents and act as the escalation point for junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical or automation issues on‑site and in internal labs without escalation.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for junior field engineers and coordinate with suppliers and partners.
• Tailor maintenance and troubleshooting approaches to local site conditions and document deviations.
• Create and continuously improve service SOPs, checklists and the PDCA cycle for the servicing function.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers on best practices and technical judgment.
• Lead technical problem‑solving during installation and upgrade projects as senior surge capacity.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on experience diagnosing and fixing complex electrical, mechanical or automation problems in an industrial or field‑service environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical diagrams, AutoCAD and automation/networking concepts such as PLC and Modbus.
• Fluent in English and Italian; willing to travel up to 70 % across Europe and hold a European driver’s licence.
• Willingness to obtain relevant electrical/technical certifications (e.g., EFK‑equivalent).
