Senior Legal Counsel – EMEA

About the role

Trip.com Group is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its EMEA Legal team, based in Barcelona or Berlin. Reporting to the Legal Director, EMEA, you will provide commercially focused legal advice and support the company’s fast‑paced global travel operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice to senior stakeholders on key projects and new initiatives.
• Navigate complex multi‑jurisdictional legal issues across EMEA and coordinate with other Trip.com Group legal teams.
• Lead compliance matters in data protection, consumer protection, digital and technology regulation, marketing, promotions, and travel‑specific regulation.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess business impact, and drive implementation projects.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts with travel product suppliers and partners.
• Build trusted relationships with senior commercial, finance, HR, and marketing stakeholders.
• Communicate complex legal concepts clearly to all levels, deliver training sessions and guidance materials.
• Manage and resolve commercial and consumer legal disputes.
• Support regulator engagements across EMEA and collaborate with European legal teams within the Group.
• Instruct and manage relationships with external law firms to ensure cost‑effective support.

Required profile

• Proven ability to provide commercially focused legal advice to senior business leaders.
• Experience handling multi‑jurisdictional legal issues in the EMEA region.
• Strong understanding of data protection, consumer protection, digital regulation, and travel‑industry law.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting legal concepts to non‑legal audiences.
