Senior Legal Counsel – Intellectual Property

About the role

Airbus is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel (d/f/m) to lead its Intellectual Property legal affairs. Based in Hamburg, with options for Toulouse or Munich, you will advise senior stakeholders and shape the legal framework for cutting‑edge aerospace technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational IP and IT guidance to Technology, Engineering, Digital Transformation and Procurement teams.
• Lead negotiations for complex R&D agreements, software licensing (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and strategic corporate partnerships.
• Structure IP transactions, M&A activities and protect global trademark, copyright and trade‑secret portfolios.
• Advise on AI and Machine‑Learning governance, regulatory trends and antitrust compliance.
• Direct high‑stakes IP litigation in collaboration with the Litigation team.
• Manage external counsel and mentor internal legal teams.

Required profile

• Senior legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property, technology contracts and M&A.
• Proven ability to advise senior executives on high‑value commercial deals and AI governance.
• Strong commercial mindset and experience handling cross‑border IP disputes.
