Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - OLED Evaporator

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in vacuum design, design for manufacturability, and materials engineering for high‑tech, high‑precision applications. This individual contributor role requires hands‑on shop‑floor experience and the ability to own mechanical design projects of moderate‑to‑high complexity with limited supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of components and assemblies from concept through product release, ensuring manufacturability, functionality, and reliability.
• Evaluate metals, alloys, coatings, composites, and polymers for performance in demanding vacuum and thermal environments.
• Apply GD&T principles and tolerance stack‑up analysis to meet quality and performance requirements.
• Design mechanical tooling and fixturing to support handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, machining vendors, suppliers, and quality teams to optimize cost and manufacturability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of practical and theoretical experience in mechanical (vacuum) design.
• Strong expertise in machining and manufacturing processes, with proven design‑for‑manufacturability experience.
• Fluent in English and proficient in German.
