Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – UAV & Aerospace Systems

About the role

Our client is an innovative aerospace and defence technology company developing next‑generation UAV systems. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, development and testing of advanced aerial platforms and mechanical subsystems, working within a multidisciplinary engineering team from concept through to production.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies and structures for UAV platforms.
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Perform FEA and engineering calculations to validate structural integrity.
• Support prototyping, testing, integration and validation activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, systems and electronics teams.
• Drive design improvements focused on performance, reliability and manufacturability.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Strong CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo or similar).
• Experience with FEA and structural analysis.
• Hands‑on mindset with experience supporting testing and prototype development.
• Background in aerospace, aviation, UAV or defence engineering is highly desirable.
