Senior Mobile Test Automation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Test Automation Engineer to shape the testing strategy for our AI‑enabled headphones. The role is remote‑first, with the option to work from our Munich office, and focuses on building robust, scalable automation for Android and iOS applications.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the mobile test automation strategy in partnership with architects and embedded teams.
• Own and evolve the Python‑pytest‑Appium framework, running tests on real devices in an in‑house farm with parallel execution.
• Implement and maintain GitLab CI pipelines, handling runner sizing, reporting, retries, and flake management.
• Integrate AI‑assisted tooling and daily AI coding assistants to accelerate test authoring and framework development.
• Analyse test results (Allure, HTML reports) and collaborate with developers to diagnose, fix, and retest defects, especially for audio features such as ANC, Transparency, EQ, hot‑words, and voice control.
• Develop and maintain test specifications, execute automated and exploratory tests, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in mobile app testing or development for Android and iOS.
• Strong Python programming skills with hands‑on experience in pytest and Appium.
• Experience with white‑label or multi‑brand apps and managing brand‑specific configurations.
• Proven ability to run tests on real device farms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Active use of AI coding assistants for test development and a clear understanding of their strengths and limits.
