Senior Mobile Test Automation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Test Automation Engineer to shape the testing strategy for our AI‑powered headphone ecosystem. The role is remote‑first, with the option to work from our Munich office, and focuses on delivering high‑quality automated tests for Android and iOS applications that control advanced audio features.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the mobile test automation strategy in partnership with architects and embedded teams.
• Own and evolve our Python, pytest, and Appium framework, running Android and iOS tests on real devices in an in‑house farm with parallel execution.
• Implement and maintain GitLab CI pipelines for the test suite, handling runner sizing, reporting, retries, and flake management.
• Integrate AI‑assisted tooling and daily use AI coding assistants to accelerate test authoring and framework development.
• Analyse test results (Allure, HTML reports) and collaborate with developers to diagnose, fix, and retest defects, especially for audio features such as ANC, Transparency, EQ, hot‑words, and voice control.
• Develop and maintain test specifications, execute automated and exploratory tests, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in mobile app testing and/or development for Android and iOS.
• Strong Python expertise with hands‑on experience in pytest and Appium.
• Experience with white‑label/multi‑brand applications and managing brand‑specific configurations from a shared codebase.
• Proven track record running tests on real device farms or remote services (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm, or in‑house) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred).
• Active use of AI coding assistants for test development and ability to articulate their benefits and limits.
• Interest or experience with LLM‑based testing tools for test generation, flake triage, log analysis, or self‑healing locators.
• Bonus: experience testing audio, Bluetooth, or embedded‑adjacent consumer products (ANC, codecs, BLE pairing, firmware/app interaction).
