Senior Procurement Specialist – Lab Supplies & Equipment

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to join MSD Animal Health Innovation on a temporary project supporting a global transformation initiative. Based in the Schwabenheim/Rhine‑Main area (remote work possible), you will work closely with the Lab Supplies & Equipment and Lab Services Category Lead within the Multi‑Year Optimization (MYO) Program.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on project support to the category lead, driving analysis and delivery of optimisation initiatives.
• Analyse complex datasets on laboratory supplies, equipment, services, costs and demand drivers.
• Develop data‑driven business cases, financial impact assessments and implementation plans.
• Translate meeting outcomes into sourcing approaches, communication materials and tracked actions.
• Execute sourcing activities including market research, RFP preparation, supplier evaluation and negotiation support.
• Independently manage assigned initiatives, represent the category in meetings and own all related documentation.
• Collaborate with Quality, R&D, Procurement and Operations to ensure cross‑functional alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or category management, preferably in laboratory or medical supplies.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large, complex data sets.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities in a matrixed, international environment.
• Ability to work autonomously, drive projects from concept to implementation and deliver measurable results.
