Senior Project Manager – Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

About the role

The position is focused on delivering utility‑scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Germany. Based in Berlin, the Senior Project Manager will act as the central coordination hub between engineering, technical consultants, construction partners and internal stakeholders to ensure fast‑track project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of multiple BESS projects, driving milestones ahead of schedule.
• Coordinate HV/MV infrastructure design, grid‑connection studies and battery integration activities.
• Manage construction phase activities, overseeing contractors and partners to meet programme, budget and quality targets.
• Maintain extensive stakeholder communication with external partners, authorities and internal commercial teams.
• Support energisation and commissioning of battery storage assets.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with proven experience on utility‑scale BESS projects.
• Strong understanding of high‑voltage (HV) and medium‑voltage (MV) systems and grid‑connection processes.
• Demonstrated construction management expertise in large‑scale energy projects.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑moving, scale‑up environment.
• German language proficiency at C1 level.
