Senior Simulation System Engineer – Pilot Synthetic Training System

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Senior Simulation System Engineer to lead the development of a high‑fidelity Eurofighter Pilot Synthetic Training System. You will be responsible for the full‑spectrum solution covering flight dynamics, avionics models, cockpit, visual and control systems, and the synthetic environment across multiple projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define system design and requirements for several PSTS EF training devices.
• Collect system and customer needs, contribute to architecture definition and derive requirements, especially for the Weapon Simulation System.
• Support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) with internal and external customers.
• Orchestrate a common future PSTS system design across projects and assist verification, acceptance and certification activities.
• Execute trade‑off studies, evaluate new technologies and tools, and conduct lessons‑learned activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in system engineering.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5–10+ years of systems engineering experience, preferably with military flight training devices.
• Strong proficiency in requirements management and system modelling tools (e.g., Cameo, Enterprise Architect, DOORS).
• Interest in emerging technologies such as AI, advanced modelling, automation and digital engineering.
