Senior Simulation System Engineer – Pilot Synthetic Training System

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space seeks a Senior Simulation System Engineer to lead the development of a high‑fidelity Eurofighter training system. You will be responsible for the full‑spectrum solution, covering flight dynamics, avionics, cockpit, visual and control systems, and the synthetic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define system design and requirements across multiple PSTS EF training devices.
• Manage system and customer needs, contribute to architecture definition and requirement derivation, especially for the Weapon Simulation System.
• Support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) with internal and external stakeholders.
• Orchestrate a common future PSTS system design across projects.
• Participate in verification, acceptance and certification activities.
• Execute trade‑off studies, evaluate new technologies and tools.
• Conduct lessons‑learned activities to improve system‑engineering practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5‑10+ years of systems‑engineering experience, preferably with military flight‑training devices.
• Proven experience across the full system‑engineering lifecycle for complex systems.
• Strong proficiency in requirements management and system‑modelling tools.
• Interest in emerging technologies such as AI, advanced modelling, automation and digital engineering.
