Senior Software Engineer - Backend / Python (m/f/x)

About the role

We are looking for a senior backend software engineer to join Cara Care’s product team. You will help design, build and operate the core services that power our digital therapeutics platform for digestive health, working closely with product, design and medical experts.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend APIs and services using Python/Django and related technologies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, implement and ship new product features.
• Ensure the platform meets healthcare‑grade security and regulatory standards (ISO 62304, MDR, etc.).
• Drive technical excellence in architecture, code quality, testing and observability.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to the overall technical direction.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily backend.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in a fast‑moving, product‑centric environment.
• Experience delivering software in regulated or security‑sensitive domains is a plus.
