Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Retire Capital is building a digital retirement withdrawal management platform for the German market. As the second technical hire you will shape the product and the engineering culture, working directly with the founders in a small, high‑leverage team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and deploy full‑stack features from financial algorithms to interactive UI.
• Own and evolve the system architecture, enforce dependency rules and make pragmatic trade‑offs.
• Extend a Rust‑native codebase that compiles to both a native server binary and a WebAssembly client.
• Ensure numerical stability, provable validation and robust security for withdrawal‑math calculations.
• Establish engineering practices that enable a 3‑5 person team to deliver high output.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with complex, statically‑typed systems.
• Proven ability to deliver features end‑to‑end without separating backend and frontend responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of software architecture patterns such as hexagonal/ports‑and‑adapters and dependency inversion.
• Experience working on regulated financial or fintech products is a plus.
