Senior Software Engineer – Simulator Visualisation Solutions

About the role

Airbus Defence & Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Simulator Visualisation Solutions team in Manching, Germany. You will contribute to high‑fidelity engineering and training simulations by designing, developing, and integrating visualisation components and image‑generator interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement software architecture for visualisation and database preparation building blocks.
• Translate operational requirements into system requirements and user stories for simulation subsystems.
• Drive development methodologies, toolchains, and workflows, including code reviews and community mentorship.
• Evaluate, integrate, and extend visualisation solutions, primarily using C++.
• Create tooling to improve CI/CD pipelines, code generation, and test automation.
• Integrate components with the overall simulator and Image Generator software.
• Develop and execute automated unit and subsystem tests, and document software modules.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Full‑Stack Software Engineer working on real‑time simulation or visualisation systems.
• Strong background in C++ development and software architecture.
