Senior Solution Development Engineer

About the role

RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics and needs a Senior Solution Development Engineer to translate visionary customer requirements into robust, field‑ready robotic system architectures. You will lead simulation, prototyping, and multidisciplinary engineering design to reduce risk early in the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Translate sales‑engineered customer requirements into simulation‑validated solution concepts and system architectures.
• Perform simulation, modeling, prototyping, and engineering analysis to validate designs before execution.
• Develop detailed mechanical, electrical, controls, and software designs for complex robotic solutions.
• Evaluate design alternatives, make data‑driven recommendations, and define clear system requirements, interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks early by collaborating with solution execution teams.
• Lead structured design reviews and produce comprehensive Solution Development Packages, including concepts, simulation results, risk assessments, interface definitions, and BOMs.
• Incorporate field feedback and operational learnings into future engineering standards.

Required profile

• Vocational training or degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or comparable experience.
• 5+ years of experience in robotic system design, simulation, and multidisciplinary solution engineering.
• Proven track record in mechanical, electrical, or controls design with risk‑mitigation frameworks.
• Strong ability to evaluate complex technical trade‑offs and communicate risks.
• Culture‑aligned mindset (ownership, growth, pragmatic, structured problem‑solving).
• Very good English skills; German is a plus.
