Senior Strategic Buyer IT (all genders welcome)

About the role

We are expanding our procurement team in Germany and are looking for a Senior Strategic Buyer IT. In this role you will shape the global sourcing strategy for IT hardware, software and consulting, working closely with internal stakeholders and international partners to deliver cost‑efficient and innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning and implementation of category and procurement strategies for IT hardware, software and consulting.
• Conduct market, supplier and spend analyses to inform sourcing decisions.
• Plan and manage RFI/RFP processes and lead contract negotiations with global IT suppliers.
• Optimize the software landscape in line with future strategic direction.
• Use analytical tools for benchmark analysis and AI‑supported models.
• Build, maintain and develop strategic supplier relationships.
• Evaluate supplier performance and drive improvement measures.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to meet business requirements.
• Exchange knowledge with international strategic buyers and IT colleagues, especially on license management.
• Identify and implement best practices for continuous optimization.

Required profile

• Completed degree in business administration, IT or a comparable qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably software sourcing.
• Proven ability to apply strategic sourcing methods (RFI/RFP, negotiations, contract design) in an international environment.
• Experience in supplier management and performance evaluation.
• Strong analytical skills, ideally with experience in AI‑supported analysis models.
• Excellent understanding of IT products, services and market structures.
• Fluent English with strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strategic thinking, high initiative and stakeholder‑management competence.
• Team‑oriented mindset and willingness to work collaboratively.
