Senior System Administrator – Secure Messaging

About the role

Join NAXCON GmbH’s secure messaging operations team in Berlin and take ownership of the backend infrastructure that powers a Matrix‑protocol enterprise messenger. You will ensure the platform remains stable, secure, and highly available while driving automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, commission, administer and monitor the secure messaging infrastructure.
• Operate the environment in line with current security standards and internal operational policies.
• Administer Red Hat‑based Linux servers and perform advanced troubleshooting in live production.
• Monitor availability, performance, capacity and thresholds of IT services and infrastructure.
• Take corrective actions for performance bottlenecks or availability incidents.
• Support agreed service levels and operational targets.
• Maintain and improve technical and operational documentation.
• Automate recurring processes using Ansible, Bash and PowerShell.
• Implement infrastructure changes following change and release management procedures.
• Record changes in configuration management databases (CMDB).
• Analyse and resolve incidents escalated from first‑level support, including remote troubleshooting.
• Communicate with users or stakeholders when additional information or coordination is required.

Required profile

• Proven experience administering Red Hat Linux servers in an enterprise environment.
• Strong analytical and root‑cause analysis skills for live production incidents.
• Familiarity with change, release and configuration management processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
