Senior Systems Engineer – Defense Technology

About the role

STARK is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the architecture and requirement management of its flagship Virtus Loitering Munition System (VLMS). You will work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment, translating high‑level customer needs into concrete engineering deliverables across hardware, software, and safety domains.

Key responsibilities

• Define, decompose, and document system‑level requirements down to subsystem and technical specifications.
• Maintain and evolve system‑engineering artefacts for multiple VLMS configurations.
• Collaborate with software and hardware teams to define interfaces and allocate requirements to the airframe, Ground Control Station (GCS) and Flight Control systems.
• Produce safety documentation, including the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), traceability matrices, and system hazard analyses in line with MIL‑STD‑882E and IEC‑61508.
• Support the definition and execution of Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) processes for ground and flight elements.

Required profile

• Academic or industrial experience in systems engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of turning challenging problems into actionable solutions.
